2024 Ethel Woolson Lab Festival - They Love Violence by Jacob York

Presented by Windmill Arts Resident Artist, Working Title Playwrights

WTP is excited to invite the community to join us for our first Ethel Woolson Lab Festival. This program is one of our most competitive and transformative experiences. Since 2009 the EWL has supported the development over 56 plays by WTP members.

This year we are featuring three dynamic plays, all in one weekend, and we look forward to bringing the community together for this event.

"Do you have a dream? Is there something you want to do more than anything?”

Sidney Gibson is a professional wrestler coming to the end of her time in the ring. Another Sidney is also Sidney, but is she? In the twilight of their career, they make a choice. To go full bore into the bloody and dangerous world of deathmatch wrestling, filled with barbed wire, thumbtacks, and flaming tables. But life will always get in art’s way. What will Sidney be willing to sacrifice to make her dreams come true? And is it worth it?
