Presented by Windmill Arts Resident Artist, Working Title Playwrights
WTP is excited to invite the community to join us for our first Ethel Woolson Lab Festival. This program is one of our most competitive and transformative experiences. Since 2009 the EWL has supported the development over 56 plays by WTP members.
This year we are featuring three dynamic plays, all in one weekend, and we look forward to bringing the community together for this event.

The year is 1968 and homosexual behavior is a mental illness treated by imprisonment, electroshock therapy, castration, and lobotomies. Determined to prove that homosexual men are not criminally insane, Laud Humphreys decides to write his sociology dissertation about the men who gather in the public restrooms of Forest Park for sex. But what Laud discovers threatens to undermine everything he thought he knew about himself and makes him question what it even means to be "sane."
Based on a true story of one of queer history’s lesser-known figures.
